UK GLP-1 price index: July 2026 market report
This is the July 2026 reading of the GLP-1 prices UK index — the lows, medians and spreads we track across 24 GPhC-registered pharmacies and CQC-regulated clinics, checked on 4 July 2026. If you want one number: the cheapest starter month of Mounjaro on the board is £145.99, the median is £169.99, and the gap between the cheapest and priciest pharmacy at the same dose is £83.01. That spread is the whole story. Same medicine, same starter dose, £83 of difference depending only on where you click.

All figures are the ongoing (non-promotional) 4-week price as listed on each provider's site on 4 July 2026, across 24 pharmacies. Confirm the live figure on the provider's own site before ordering — this is price information, not an offer of supply.
What the spread tells you
Two patterns hold across the whole July board. First, the spread is widest at the lower doses and tightens as you climb. Mounjaro 2.5 mg carries an £83.01 spread; by 15 mg that has narrowed to £70.01. Pharmacies compete hardest on the starter dose — it is the shop window — and quietly converge once you are on a maintenance dose.
Second, Wegovy runs cheaper than Mounjaro at every rung. The Wegovy 2.4 mg maintenance median is £199.99 against £318.00 for Mounjaro 15 mg — a £118 monthly difference at the top of each drug's ladder. That is not a like-for-like clinical comparison (the drugs are dosed differently and Mounjaro tends to produce more weight loss in trials), but on pure price the gap is real and consistent. If you want the two weighed on results as well as cost, our Mounjaro vs Wegovy cost-per-percent breakdown does exactly that.
Where the value sits this month
On the Mounjaro 2.5 mg starter, the board low of £145.99 is held by Click2Pharmacy, with Chemist4U (£148.00), Oxford Online Pharmacy (£148.96) and ASDA Online Doctor (£148.97) clustered just above. At the 15 mg maximum dose, Click2Pharmacy again anchors the low at £288.99. On Wegovy 2.4 mg, Cloud Pharmacy sets the low at £174.99.
A word on the top of the band. The board high on several doses is set by subscription-style services that bundle coaching into the monthly fee — you are not paying £229 purely for the drug, you are paying for a programme. The index treats that as price paid, because that is what leaves your account. Chasing the absolute low every month is not always right either: a pharmacy that is cheapest at 2.5 mg may sit mid-table by 10 mg, so the smart play is to track the low at your current dose. Our cheapest GLP-1 by dose tracker keeps that per-rung ranking current.
£125.00 first month with code NEWME · £160.00 ongoing on Mounjaro 2.5 mg
On this month's index The Weight Clinic sits sixth of 24 on ongoing Mounjaro 2.5 mg price — £14.01 above the board low — but its first month is one of the three cheapest on the whole board. Per the provider's published terms, the small premium over the rock-bottom low buys a video review with a clinician every month rather than a web form, needles in the box, next-day delivery, and a refund if the prescriber declines you. That is the strongest price-to-service line we track, which is why it is our recommended provider.
NEWME · £35 off first order · refund if declined
How to read a GLP-1 price properly
The headline 4-week figure is only part of the true cost. Three things routinely move the real number and are easy to miss when you are scanning a board.
First-month promos versus ongoing price
Almost every pharmacy on the index runs a first-order discount — a code or an automatic reduction. That first month can be £30–£50 below the ongoing rate. It is genuine money, but it is one-off. For a medicine you may take for a year or more, month seven onwards is what matters, so the index ranks on ongoing price and treats the promo as a bonus.
Delivery and consultation
Some listed prices are drug-only, with cold-chain delivery and needles charged on top; others fold everything in. A £3 cheaper pen that adds a £5 delivery fee is not cheaper. We note delivery and consultation terms on the main board for this reason.
The dose ladder
Prices rise as you titrate up. Mounjaro starts at 2.5 mg for four weeks (a starter, not a treatment dose), then steps up. Budgeting on the starter price and being surprised at the 10 mg figure is the most common mistake we see. Plan for the maintenance dose, not the introductory one. Is July cheap or dear by 2026 standards?
Against the year so far, the July board is broadly stable — no dramatic move at either end, and the low anchors are held by the same handful of high-street-adjacent pharmacies that have led all year. The persistent feature of 2026 remains the width of the spread rather than the direction of the median. Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest GLP-1 price in the UK right now?
On our 4 July 2026 index, the lowest headline figure on the whole board is Wegovy 0.25 mg at £79.97 for four weeks. For Mounjaro, the cheapest starter month is £145.99 at the 2.5 mg dose. Cheapest depends entirely on which drug and dose you are on, and promotional first-month prices can go lower still. Always confirm the live figure on the provider's site.
Why do GLP-1 prices vary so much between pharmacies?
Because the medicine is the same but the service around it is not. Pharmacies price differently on purchasing scale, delivery model, whether coaching is bundled in, and how aggressively they compete for new patients. In July 2026 the same Mounjaro starter dose ranges £145.99 to £229.00 — an £83 spread — driven mostly by those service and margin choices, not by any difference in the drug itself.
Is Wegovy cheaper than Mounjaro?
On price alone, yes, at every rung of the July index. The Wegovy 2.4 mg maintenance median is £199.99 versus £318.00 for Mounjaro 15 mg. That is not a clinical verdict — the drugs are dosed differently and trial evidence tends to favour tirzepatide for average weight loss — but if you are comparing sticker prices, Wegovy consistently comes in lower.
Should I switch pharmacy every month to chase the lowest price?
Not necessarily. The cheapest pharmacy at 2.5 mg is often not the cheapest at 10 mg, and continuity of care has value. Track the low at the dose you are actually on, weigh the £10–£20 monthly difference against the hassle of moving prescriptions, and factor in service — a video review, refund-if-declined, and included needles can be worth a small premium.
How often is this index updated?
We re-check every provider on a rolling basis and date every reading. This report reflects the 4 July 2026 check across 24 GPhC-registered pharmacies and CQC-regulated clinics. Prices move between checks, so treat the figures as a snapshot and confirm the current price on the provider's own site before ordering.
The Weight Clinic — £125.00 first month, then £160.00 on Mounjaro 2.5 mg
Not the rock-bottom low, but the best price-to-service line on this month's index: monthly video reviews with a clinician, next-day delivery with needles included, and your money back if the prescriber declines you. New patients use code NEWME for £35 off the first order.
Mounjaro (tirzepatide) and Wegovy (semaglutide) are prescription-only medicines with side effects and are not suitable for everyone — a qualified prescriber decides.
